The General Orientation Program is usually scheduled in the morning, and in the afternoon,
the freshmen and transferees have their College Orientation Program headed by the Deans of the
Colleges. There, all the faculty members and staff of the college are introduced to the students.
They are also given lectures on matters such as proper wearing of uniform, dropping ad adding of
subjects, compliance in case of incomplete grade, and other university policies.
➢ The Guidance Program and its Services
The Guidance Program is geared towards the attainment of well-rounded students
responsible, morally and socially upright. It offers the following services that will help students
discover their ability, potentialities and develop them to become a well-rounded person.
a. Guidance Service – a set of services using an integrated approach to the development of
well-functioning individuals primarily by helping them to utilized their potentials to the
fullest.
b. Counseling – individual or group intervention designed to facilitate positive change in
student behavior, feelings and attitudes.
c. Appraisal – gathering of information about students through the use of psychological
tests and non-psychometric devices.
d. Follow-up – a system monitoring to determine the effectiveness of guidance activities, in
general, and placement in particular.
e. Referral – refers to coordination multi-disciplinary team of specialists to ensure that
special needs of students are met. (Student Handbook p.38)
