What are you doing today?
Today, I am pursuing my dream to become a Director of Instruction and to become a PGA member. I take 5 classes a semester and have an internship lined up for the summer at Des Moines Golf and Country Club.
What impact did First Tee have on your life?
Without First Tee - Tampa Bay, I wouldn’t have achieved the accomplishments I have so far. When I joined First Tee - Tampa Bay 4 years ago, I had no aspirations of attending college.
Now, I am the first person in my family to attend college and
I am pursuing my dream of becoming a PGA Professional, and it wouldn’t be possible without First Tee - Tampa Bay.
What is your favorite memory from your First Tee – Tampa Bay experience?
My favorite memory from First Tee - Tampa Bay was from our weekly “Players Club” event. It was my junior year of high school and I had arrived late to Players Club. When I arrived to the course, I ran to the 1st hole of Rogers Park and joined everyone on the Tee Box. For the 4 holes that we played before the sun went down, we joked around and had fun.
How did First Tee – Tampa Bay equip you to take on new experiences or challenges?
First Tee - Tampa Bay taught me valuable life lessons
through the Nine Core Values which helps me take on
the real world and new challenges. With values such as respect, honesty, confidence and responsibility, I am able to take on new challenges without fear. I have gained
so much more confidence in myself to explore things out of my comfort zone and to chase my dreams. This wouldn’t be possible without First Tee - Tampa Bay.
Now, I am the first person in my family to attend college.
