How to use this handbook
First of all, let me welcome to the guitar tuition for the beginner level 1
This handbook is suitable for both tutors and students. wanting to learn about the guitar
and also most important getting playing. There’s advice about purchasing a guitar, accessories
you ‘ll need.
Throughout the book there are a few links: ‘shorturl’ links : ’ and QR codes, (of which link you
use depends on how you are viewing this book), directs you to accompanying video files, blank
handout sheets, blank practice sheets which you may download and print and also useful
information.
There are seven sections to go through and are fairly straight forward.
(Notes to Student: You may need a tutor to help you with each section)
Section 1: Useful information:
Purchasing, parts of the guitar, how are guitars made,
taking care of your guitar, accessories
Section 2: Practical/ Theory: Getting your guitar ready for playing
Starting out with your instrument, tuning, holding the guitar, posture.
Section 3: Practical/Theory: Notes on the guitar Strings
Looking at note order and arrangement
Section 4: Practical/Theory: Chords
Discovering different chords and writing them
down as you learn - blank chord charts
Section 5: Practical/Theory: Chords
Discovering different chords and writing them down
(with extra fillable chord charts as you learn more)
Section 6: Practical/Theory:
Learning about rhythms: discovering and strumming the first rhythm
Section 7: Sheets for the students own notes
The student has space to write their own notes at the end of the work-book
