rainforest Desert Ocean Tundra

- Ecosystem provides living organisms with food, water and shelter.

►How does energy flow through ecosystem?

Energy flow from plants to animals and between animals when they eat each other and
when living organisms die their energy returned to the soil.

►Hawks in ecosystem. Hawks can eat
                                                                                  Birds
   - Hawks don’t eat plants, but they eat animals which eat Snakes
plants, so they also depend on plants for energy. Fish

   - Hawks can be hunted by eagles or other hawks. Rabbits

• What happens when hawks die? Squirrel
It decomposes and its energy is returned to the soil.

• Why animals eat plants or other animals?
To get energy as they can't make their own food.

• Why do we need energy?
To do all activities in our daily life such as thinking and breathing.

➢ The primary source of energy is the sun.
➢ The light energy of the sun is converted into chemical energy in plants.
