pulse. On the third line (“What we have left...”), brush the chopped-up vegetable into the pot to the pulse. During the final section (“Stir it round...”), make a stirring action to the pulse. Have a taste. “I think we need more vegetables!”
c) Choose another child to suggest a vegetable and then repeat the rhyme, using your left hand as the chopping board and your right hand as the scissors.
d) Repeat activities b and c.
e) End by saying “the soup is now ready! Let’s eat it up.” Mime eating soup.
“Mmm delicious!”

Chop off the bottom and chop off the top. What we have left we will put in the pot. Chop, chop, choppity chop.

Teach the children the tricky moves first, then play the track and perform the dance all together, using the choreography from the video.

8. Working with Props: ‘Shake it Off’ performed by Taylor Swift Explain to the children how being active helps us to be healthy. “A good way to be active is to play games where we run around. My favourite is musical shakers.” Give each child an egg shaker. When the music plays, they march around with their shakers. When you pause the music, they have to freeze and be very still and quiet. Congratulate children who are making an effort to be very still.
