P. 2
4. Use the list of the children’s names to call them one by one. Tick the children’s names off as you go.
5. Once they’ve chosen a tattoo, apply it to their arm. Do not use the stencil on the face as they can last for days! If the child’s arm is very hairy, apply it to the inside of their arm as otherwise it might hurt.
6. You can view our instructional video here: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kp5GeXA0hDM&feature=youtu.be) or follow the steps below.
7. Carefully peel back the white paper at the back and press the stencil down on the child’s skin. Smooth it flat and then carefully peel back the transparent layer using your finger to keep the black stencil pressed down on the skin as you peel.
8. Apply the glue to inside the stencil. You don’t need to use too much, just a thin layer will suffice. Whilst you are applying the stencil and glue, ask the child to choose a colour. You can use up to two colours on one tattoo (E.g. black for the ship’s base and red for the ship’s sails) but keep an eye on the time and only do this if you are running to schedule, as this takes longer to do. Of course the birthday boy/girl can choose two colours.
9. Once the glue is covering the image thoroughly then apply the glitter using a small brush until the stencil is all filled. You do not need too much glitter as it can be rubbed in to create a more even look.
10. Use your biggest brush to remove any excess glitter (this will also help spread it around).
11. Finally, say “1, 2,3 Abracadabra” as you peel off the stencil.
12. There is no need for water as it will not remove the glue on the brush. It is fine to
use the one brush for all the colours.
13. If you make a mistake and there is glue outside of the stencil, you can use an
alcohol wipe to remove it.
14. Tell the children to blow on them afterwards and not to touch them for five
minutes or they will ’get messy’.
15. Use your ticked list to count how many tattoos you applied and let the party
coordinator know if it was more or less than requested on the booking form.
Happy tattooing!
