Resources for Spring Music Lesson Twelve Activity: Rig a Jig Jig
In the Nursery:
Everyone sits in a circle and claps during the verse. For the chorus, choose two children to go in the middle and jump up and down whilst holding hands. For non-walkers, an adult takes one baby into the middle and gently bounces them up and down during the chorus.
At Home:
Hold your baby and walk around the room to the pulse. Stop walking after “Hello, hello, hello” and gently bounce your baby up and down to the pulse of the chorus.
Lyrics:
Verse
As I was walking down the street, Down the street, down the street.
A friend of mine I chanced to meet. Hello, hello, hello!
Chorus
A rig a jig jig and away we go, Away we go, away we go.
A rig a jig jig and away we go. Hello, hello, hello.
