* Running time approx. 2 mins.
2. Stretching and curling: Hedgehogs See term one lesson one.
* Running time approx. 3 mins.
3. Travel to Danceland: ‘Thomas the Tank Engine Theme’ performed by The Little ‘uns
“Before we go to Danceland in our Thomas train, let’s practise our train arms and feet. Do we have brains in our feet? No! So, we must tell them what to do.” Practise moving feet on the spot to the pulse, by chanting “chug” as you put down one and “a” as you put down the other. Start slowly and gradually speed up. “Do we have brains in our arms?” Repeat the process for arms. Arms as pistons move downwards on “chug” and up on “a” in a circular motion. Play the track and perform the activity as in term one lesson ten, with more of an emphasis on technique.
NB: You can see an example of the ‘no brains in feet’ analogy being used in ‘The Walking Song’ video.
* Running time approx. 4 mins.
4. Introduce the theme: ‘Let’s Make a Circle’ written by Anne Porter Without speaking, get the children into a circle by singing ‘Let’s Make a Circle’ as in term one lesson one.
Ask the children if they can remember what they learnt about in last week’s lesson. Ask a volunteer to tell you about something special that they made for Easter. Act out making the suggested gift as a group. Ask two or three more volunteers and repeat.
* Running time approx. 3 mins.
