Summer Drama Lesson 13 - Camping Out
P. 1

 Resources for Summer Lesson 13:
Camping Out!
Activity: ‘This is the Way We Pitch the Tent’ (tune of ‘Here We Go ‘Round the Mulberry Bush’, traditional)
Sing the song and perform actions as indicated by the lyrics.
This is the way we pitch the tent, Pitch the tent, pitch the tent. This is the way we pitch the tent, When we go a camping.
Ask a volunteer to suggest another activity that can be done when camping. If they need help, offer some suggestions for them to choose from including hiking, building a fire, cooking, washing up, canoeing, swimming and going to sleep. Write a new verse about the volunteer’s chosen activity. E.g. This is the way we build a fire... Repeat the process several times, until your three minutes is up.
Other Ideas!
Ask four volunteers to name an activity they do when they go camping. Play the song ‘Camping Out’ by Emilie Mover and act out performing the suggested activities, one by one. You then lead the children in performing your own activity ideas.
