“This time, I’m going ask the questions all by myself. And you’re going to all be the pussy cat and say the answers all by yourselves. So remember: it’s my turn first.” Perform the poem two more times as a call and response activity with you asking the questions and the children saying the answers. You should do the knee tapping action as you speak and the children should do the pussy cat ears action as they speak.
Teacher:
Pussy cat, pussy cat, where have you been?
Children:
I've been to London to visit the queen.
Teacher:
Pussy cat, pussy cat, what did you there?
Children:
I saw a little mouse under a chair.
All:
Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak!
