Repeat verse one all the way through (without pausing to ask the question this time) so the children can join in.
Verse Two
On a moonlit night when the stars come out, (make twinkle stars with fingers) There are nocturnal animals all about. (stretch arms up high and outwards)
Meow, meow, meow, what do I see? (make a ‘cat’ movement with upper body then hands to side as if asking a question)
“What nocturnal animal is it? That’s right it’s a cat!”
A big black cat is looking at me. (move like a cat with upper body)
Repeat verse two all the way through (without pausing to ask the question this time) so the children can join in.
Verse Three
On a moonlit night when the stars come out, (make twinkle stars with fingers) There are nocturnal animals all about. (stretch arms up high and outwards)
Ribet, ribet, ribet, what do I see? (make a ‘frog’ movement with upper body then hands to side as if asking a question)
“What nocturnal animal is it? That’s right it’s a frog!”
A green tree frog is looking at me. (move like a frog with upper body)
Repeat verse three all the way through (without pausing to ask the question this time) so the children can join in.
Verse Four
On a moonlit night when the stars come out, (as above)
There are nocturnal animals all about. (as above)
Squeak, squeak, squeak, what do I see? (make a ‘dormouse’ movement with upper body then hands to side as if asking a question)
“What nocturnal animal is it? That’s right it’s a mouse!”
A garden dormouse looking at me. (move like a mouse with upper body)
Repeat verse four all the way through (without pausing to ask the question this time) so the children can join in.
