Please see instructions in lesson plan 1.
2. Welcome (5 mins): ‘Hello, Hello’ written by Janice Buckner
Welcome the children as usual and remind them that they should always keep their ukuleles under their chairs unless you ask them to take them out. Sing all three verses of the song as you have done the past two weeks and play along on your ukulele. At this stage you shouldn’t need to pause in between verses to give instructions.
Everyone sings:
DG
Hello, hello,
DA
Hello, hello,
DG
Hello, hello.
DAG
It's music time.
Teacher sings and children respond “hello”:
Children say “hello” (hello), Children say “hello” (hello), Children say “hello” (hello), It’s music time.
Children sing and teacher responds “hello”:
Lucy (insert your name) Sparkles say “hello” (hello), Lucy (insert your name) Sparkles say “hello” (hello), Lucy (insert your name) Sparkles say “hello” (hello), It’s music time.
Next, insert the names of the children in the class, prompting them to say hello on their own. Choose a confident child to go first.
