P. 1

Resources for Summer Lesson 3: Father’s DAy
Activity: I Love My Daddy
Sing the song with the following actions. Hands on heart to pulse for each "I love my daddy"
and nod head twice for each "Yes I do". Clap hands to pulse for last line.
I love my daddy. Yes I do.
I love my daddy. Yes I do.
I love my daddy. Yes I do.
He’s the best daddy in the world.
A selected child tells you the name of their daddy and something he likes doing. Use their words to make a new verse. E.g. He likes cooking, yes he does x 3, He’s the best daddy in the world. Everyone sings the new verse and does new actions to match.
“Of course, Father’s Day isn’t just for daddies. It can be for grandads, uncles, special friends, or any other special people that love you and help look after you.”
Ask a volunteer to: choose another special person (e.g. grandad), tell you their special person’s name and sing a verse about them.
I love my grandad. Yes I do.
I love my grandad. Yes I do.
I love my grandad. Yes I do.
He’s the best grandad in the world.
Ask the same volunteer to tell you something their special person like doing. Use their words to make up a new verse. E.g. He likes driving, yes he does x 3, He’s the best grandad in the world. Everyone sings the new verse and does new actions to match.
Repeat this whole process (singing the “I love my...” verse and then a verse about what the special person likes doing) until everyone has had a turn.
