Dr. Bill Thomas - Consultant - Biography
Dr. Bill Thomas has more than 30 years’ experience in Legionella risk assessment and control and water quality and environmental analysis, working in a wide range of business sectors, including industrial, commercial, institutional and healthcare; both in the UK and overseas.
He has a strong technical background and extensive knowledge of water quality and treatment and is a recognised expert in risk assessment and control of Legionella bacteria and other waterborne agents.
During this time, he has undertaken numerous projects including:
◆ Providing integrated safety, health and environmental management consultancy services to industrial, healthcare and commercial organisations.
◆ Providing water and air quality monitoring and assessment.
◆ Assuming responsibility for laboratory operations and consultancy operations of the European division of a
major US based environmental consultancy.
◆ Responsibility for water and technical laboratories conducting over 200,000 tests per year on water and other
environmental samples.
◆ Providing technical support to laboratory operations and project support to waste disposal operations and
water pollution control.
Bills achievements to date are numerous, and include:
◆ Developing corporate policies and practices for managing health, safety and environmental issues across a wide range of businesses.
◆ Advising government departments and professional bodies in the UK and overseas, on public health and environmental issues.
◆ Publishingover50technicalpapers.
◆ Actedasexpertwitnessonbehalfofseveralorganisations,preparingexpertstatementsandreportstoassist
the organisations in understanding their liabilities and resolving legal disputes.
