On 14th of May 2017, the French Teckel Club organized its National show in the country, Département Drôme (in the South of France). For our club, this show – l’Exposition Natio- nale d’élevage – is the most important event of the year, and we were happy with the entry of 296 dogs.
Mrs Daniela Giannini (Italy, kennel “Della Canterana”) judged Smooth-haired Dachs- hunds in all the three sizes; Mrs Nathalie Pa- trix (France) – Standard Wire-haired Dachs- hunds in adult classes; Mrs Annie Laval Duboul (France) – Long-haired Dachshunds in all the three sizes, in adult and junior classes; Mr Jan Busta (Czechia, kennel “Vitoraz”) – Miniature and Kaninchen Wires in adult and junior class- es; Mr Sebastien Jacops (France, kennel “Des Lutins de Jacopson”) had Champion, Veteran, Puppy, Baby classes and the special class for
“les sujets recommandés” of the year.

and coats:
SS – 16, MS – 28, KS – 18 dogs; SL –31, ML – 37, KL – 11 dogs;
SW – 91, MW – 39, KW – 25 dogs.
On the same day, we also had the possibili- ty to pass some important tests with our dogs: the eye clinic with tests performed by the specialist who came directly to the show; the bite and teeth examination done by two di erent judges; the DNA test, and the tem- perament test with the gun.
The points from the National Specialty show are obligatory for the French Club title
“recommended of the year” (“sujet recom- mandé”); this is valuable for the dog.
