1982 the huge number of 265 (!!!) Dachs-
hund litters saw the light of day at the farm of
Mrs Delbrügger. When I asked about the se-
cret of her success, she smiled and said, that
she was always happy with a lucky combina-
tion and repeated it as often as possible. So
the clicking link with her bitches Delbrügger’s
Clara with Delbrügger’s Elias or Delbrügger’s
Ehmi with Delbrügger’s Wispel was repeated
five times each. Also she said, that if she liked
a male, she went there for mating with 3–4 of
her bitches, no matter if that studdog lived in
the Netherlands or in Northern Germany. Her advice would be nev- er to breed too close! Perhaps the results will not be as homogenu- ous, but fit and sound. Lucky circumstances always allowed her the opportunity to keep many Dachshunds and try out her ideas.
Mrs Delbrügger decided to run her own string of Dachshunds and started to breed under the name of her husband, with the a x “vom Delbrügger Hof”
