 Glass Block Repairs
The GLASS BLOCKS above the basement act as an important Smoke Escape Route. In case of fire and insufficient circulation of air, the SCDF will break the Glass Blocks to release the accumulated smoke from the basement areas.
For the safety of all residents, please keep the glass blocks free from items and do not stand on or place anything on them, or replace them with other materials.
The upkeep of the glass blocks is important to prevent water seepage. Some glass blocks have been reported broken or cracked, and prompt repairs have been done.
The Managing Agent will continue to repair any damaged glass blocks on an ongoing basis when they are reported.
Why do we cut down trees?
Over the past couple of months, we have undertaken a long-overdue review of the trees in and around the condo, in conjunction with the LTA.
While we are all sad to see the greenery reduced, several trees were identified as unsafe and had to be removed or trimmed to ensure the safety of the community.
The key issue was that these trees were planted in very shallow planter boxes which were not designed to secure the height and weight of the trees.
The council will be working with our landscaping contractors over the coming months to identify more suitable plants for replanting.
