                                                        endearing spirit which brought warmth to her patients.

                                                       As a melanoma cancer survivor, Janet was also passionate
                                                        about supporting local cancer patients and she remained
                                                        dedicated to volunteering her time and energy to spearhead
                                                        countless cancer fundraising events. Janet was also a supporter
                                                        of Mission Hope Cancer Center, never thinking she would
                                                        need the integrated oncology facility’s services as a second-
                                                        time cancer patient.

                                                        In August of 2011, Janet was diagnosed with a rare cancer. She
                                                        turned to Mission Hope where coworkers devotedly cared
                                                        for Janet and her family. Although Janet’s cancer took on an
                                                        aggressive form, she never gave up, embracing her positive
                                                       “can-do” attitude to battle the disease until her passing in Sep-
                                                        tember of 2013.

                                                        In the midst of her family’s grief, Janet’s husband, Joe, and
                                                        their three daughters graciously designated memorial gifts in
                                                        Janet’s memory to Marian Cancer Care at Mission Hope and
                                                        to Maternal and Newborn Care Services. Even in her passing,
                                                        Janet’s legendary nursing and community advocacy legacy
                                                        continues to inspire others as gifts in her memory are now
                                                        making a positive impact in the lives of Marian patients.
