Acclaimed soprano Christine Brewer (center), visiting professor of voice at Webster University, joins student performers and collaborative pianists at the conclusion of a week-long 2019 residency. Song literature for the week was drawn from the wealth of LGBT composers and poets.
Victoria Minton as Giorgetta and Pedro Barrera as Luigi in Lamont Opera Theatre’s new production of Puccini’s Il trittico in April 2019. Director Matthew Plenk collaborated with University of Denver Theatre Department designers Michael R. Duran (sets), Dora Arbuckle (costumes), and Shannon McKinney and Evan Mues (lighting).
Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) Music presents “To the Ball.” This program included scenes from Cinderella operas and Amelia Goes to the Ball by Menotti. Pictured: Alissa Vazquez and Bethlehem Martinez as Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother from Viardot’s Cendrillon with costumes by Rebecca Bush. CPP offers a BM in classical vocal performance.
Members of Agnes Scott College’s Sotto Voce—Yasmin Edwards, Zoe Katz, Xiangyuan He, Emily Burnette, Elizabeth Dudley, and Amira Dougherty—sing Andrea Ramsey’s “Heaven Unfolding” during the inauguration of university president Leocadia I.
