Samford University School of the Arts commissioned a new American opera, The Ghosts of Gatsby, by librettist Joshua McGuire and composer Evan Mack. It premiered at Samford in the fall of 2018 with a production by the Samford Opera and then was performed for various audiences around the country. The opera was directed by Samford’s Associate Professor Kristin Kenning.
Michelle Vera as the Queen of the Night in the Westmont College March 2019 production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, fully staged with orchestra at the New Victoria Theater in Santa Barbara, California. Stage director John Blondell and music director Michael Shasberger. Rossini and Puccini productions planned for 2020!
