                                    Carlos Rodr%u00edguez Otero was born in Santiago de Compostela and grew up in Bristol, studying violin and piano and receiving extensive orchestral and chamber music training. He read Music at Queens%u2019 College, Cambridge, where he was a choral scholar, later singing as a Tenor Lay Clerk at St John%u2019s College. Since 2024, he has been Director of Music at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and maintains an international performing career as a choral conductor and singer. Carlos also teaches and supervises at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, and maintains a broad freelance teaching practice. His compositional and performance work is underpinned by an ongoing research interest in sacred music of Early Modern Spain. Cruz was commissioned by Continuum Choir and premiered in Clare College Chapel, Cambridge.
