Dear, Mrs.Ranum

Having you as a teacher was a great honor. I can’t believe I won’t see you
again. You have been very supportive. You are like a mom to everyone on the team.
Even though we didn’t end the year together I still appreciate everything you have
done to make us believe in ourselves.

I just want to say THANK YOU for everything. You have inspired me to try my
best in everything I do and help others in need. At the beginning of the year I
thought you were going to be mean (sometimes you look mean) but you weren’t. You

were actually really nice to everyone and care for everyone. I loved hearing your
stories every day. Like when your daughter made a heart balloon, or when she made
her pumpkin, or when they made you breakfast, even when you wrote a joke on the
back of an important paper. For me, math class seemed like 10 minutes. The time
               passed by really fast.

You have made me change. I see things differently. Now I know that everything is
not just study, study, and study. We can have a lot of fun too. I learned math this
year better than any other year because it was math with fun, with games, with
jokes, with stories. It was math with LOVE. I was able to see that you becoming a
teacher was not only the check, it was the love and passion you had as a teacher.
You wanted everyone to learn what you have leaned but in a different way, in a way
that no one would ever say “I hate math class”. You made this year forget how hard
math is. Every time I had a bad day I was just waiting for math class because it
was the class I didn’t have to stress about something I didn’t know. You were
               always there to help.

I will always remember when I had my first drop of vasovagal syncope because you

were there to help me. I remember I was crying but I’m not sure about what. You
took me to the teachers office, talked to me, and calmed me down. I was relieved
that you took me out of the room first. It was as if you were already prepared. You
were of so much help. Someday I will return you the favor and whenever you need
help just email me. I will be there for you like you were there for me. And no
matter what anyone tells you always remember that you are a great teacher, great
friend, great mom, and have a great big heart.
