CHAIR’S REPORT

Having developed our 2019-2023 Strategic Plan like most organisations
Volunteer Centre Greenwich (VCG) was hit hard midway through the year
by the Covid-19 Pandemic. However we were able to secure funding for
laptops for our staff and some volunteers so that working from home was
possible and the team quickly adapted to a new, virtual way of working.
Our CEO, Michelle Matin, became part of the Royal Borough of
Greenwich’s Covid-19 Task Force providing expertise and guidance on the wide range of
       volunteering needs within the Borough.

While some of our projects had to be adjusted and the Envolve Tours had to be sadly paused
new opportunities arose including the Befriending Project which has become a great
success. Where possible our training programmes were adapted to an online and/or virtual
       offering.

It is a credit to Michelle, her staff and volunteers that their ability to adapt what we do and
how we deliver it has ensured VCG’s survival during this very challenging year.
