IMPORTANCE OF DRUG DISCOVERY

DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Two years back when everyone was busy and were doing chores a

bizarre life-threatening disease originated from WUHAN and put

everyone into desolation I.e. The Severe Acute Respiratory
Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) which have been recorded

worldwide and was classified as international pandemic by WHO. It
resulted in millions of deaths.

The situation was onerous even the general director of WHO said”
There is no silver button at the moment and there might never be”.

As the world struggling against current global pandemic of novel,

coronavirus disease.

It was challenging to trigger drug discovery efforts to search board

spectrum and anti-viral. Thus, there was a need of strong and
sustainable coloration and hence global coloration resulted in

identification of covid-19. All the global authorities such as FDA,
EMA& MHRA came into action and started identifying the drug for

the treatment by scanning both novel and existing drug for their
ability to alleviate symptoms and strial viral replication.

The drug development strategy bears the brunt of CoVID-19.

Basically, this is a disease which can leave you between mild sniffle
to an unpleasant combination of high fever, heavy fatigue and lever

inflammation damage. There are two categories. The virus itself
and hyperinflammation response to the virus thus, combination

(“Drug cocktail”) is required to neutralize the virus and supress

symptoms. To the date, discovery of drugs has attempted to reach
the wide range of goals.

Considerable efforts are still being applied to discovery of novel
therapeutic drugs and new technologies.
