followed my parent to escape Viet-Cong from North Vietnam at
1954.
I worked at Pyramid Radar control, the small Air Force base with
the
Runway of L-19 and the park-field of helicopters only, then I
moved to the Air Force Training center school in 12 nds. Air Force
base in Nha-Trang city to learn more English, after graduated English
class, I moved again to Da-Nang, worked at Panama Radar controller
on top of the Son-Tra mountain. Since I had time to watch the light
wind blow the white cloud in the wide blue sky at the sunrise, or look
at the green of Truong-Son mountains which speared from south to
north of Vietnam and the weak light that struggles to die on the
surface of the Pacific Ocean in the sunset, saw the masses of dark
clouds gathered in the sky. Sometimes I heard the gibbons howling in
the distance of the forests or the birds sing nearby the Panama Radar
base and along the sloping road, that was winding the circle from the
foot to the top of Son-Tra mountain, and at the same time I just pay
attention to Viet-Minh, maybe they were in the villages around or
on the Son-Tra mountain. After half a year I went back to Pyramid
Radar in Ban-Me-Thuot city, and the 12nd. Air Force base, the
Training Center of Vietnam Air Force in Nha-Trang to learn English,
ready to go abroad to study more about radar control, therefore I
met you again in Thien-Thai bar."
Nguyen looked at Phuong, had a little sighed and added:
" There were so many things to remember in my life. Few of
things I would like to forget, but I could not do it, it rolled over and
over in my mind...! I never thought we would meet again, and I
never thought you would remember me because we met and talking
only one night at that time. " Nguyen said.
She moves her fingers into her hair, and closed her eyes, trying
to contain her suffering.
