EATCrete is fantastic for catering for a range of dietary requirements. For vegetarians there’s delicious dishes such as giant butter beans cooked slowly in tomato sauce with parsley, celery, onions and carrots. Meat eaters have a range of options including Soutzoukakia, which are meatballs flavoured with cumin and garlic then cooked in tomato sauce. Alternatively, Youvarlakia are meatballs and rice flavoured with parsley and onion that are then dropped into stock and thickened with egg and lemon juice.
SEE Crete will captivate you with its beauty. There are countless beaches to relax on, archaeology to uncover and yoga retreats to enjoy! Knossos, the Minoan Palace in Iraklion, is a well-documented tourist attraction but culture vultures often prefer the Palace of Phaistos, a smaller untouched place of interest. If you’re
a fan of nature then Matala has caves hewn out of the rock on the beach and are ideal for exploring.
DO There’s an abundance of things to do in Crete.
