Crete September. Loggerhead sea turtles
Every summer loggerhead turtles lay their eggs on Crete’s sandy beaches where they stay nestled for around 2 months. Each female turtle lays between 20-200 eggs from May and September, and after the eggs hatch the young turtles head out to sea. Timing your visit for nesting season means you have the chance to witness this beautiful natural event.
