ed with His Son. The word "incarnate" means having a body or appearing in human form. The word "manifest" means making clear. Therefore, the invisible God became visible, manifest or incarnate in the flesh. Christ, the Son of God is the express image of the invisible Spirit. The Word was in God and was God's Word from all eternity. At the appointed time, the Word of God became flesh, in order to reveal the Father. God the Father, indeed became Immanuel, the Spirit in flesh and blood (Hebrews (9:14; 10:19-31; Colossians 1:15-22; Matt. 1:20-23).
John, in his first epistle, declares this revelation in a beautiful way: "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of theWordoflife;forthelifewasmanifested, and wehaveseenit, andbear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us; that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is withtheFather, andwithhisSon,JesusChrist" (IJohn1:1-3).Johnhadthe revelation of God the Father, and the Son of God, in one person. He said. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and God (Himself) was the Word." (See Greek Bible). It is a great truth that the Word
of God, which was in God from the beginning, became flesh (John 1:1/1^)-
God from the beginning has His own Word as His invisible image. In the time of Adam, the Word of God walked in the garden in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8). Moses thought that God was known only by His voice (Deuteronomy 4:12-23). Hebrews 1:2-3 tells us that "God hath spoken unto us in these last days by His Son whom He hath appointed heir of all things,
by whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His gloiy andtheexpressimageofHisperson." WeknowGoddoesnotshareHis glorywithanyother(Isaiah42:8). Therefore,JesusisthegloryoftheFather incarnate. (S^John1:1-18;Exodus22:20.)
