 CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
AND THE WORK PROSPERED

Addis Ababa is a key city of many regions and here the Lord gives us opportunities to touch many different
people with the Gospel. We reached out and first opened four branch works and later six more. At this time we have
thirteen branch works, often baptizing thirty or more each week. Brother Ayele Lakew ably pastors the original Gofa church and is the leader of the Addis Ababa section with twelve fine men working under him.
For a long time we have met with the preachers
regularly twice a week to teach and encourage them. No one has interrupted or hindered this work. Government
regulations demanded that all religions get permission before
planning a meeting. We knew if we asked permission, the answer would be no, so we asked the Lord and continued
with our meetings that are wonderfully blessed. With the
proclamation of democracy we hastened to rent houses in
every village where we can gather the people together. Now, we sing and pray and preach and worship freely in the Holy
