I W<e the .Amplified Version because it captures part of the ungrammatical profundity that God spoke to Moses in.
God said, "You tell Israel," "eyah asher eyah" has sent you."
Many people have assumed that God's words should really be translated as 'Eyah' has sent me to you. In this case 'Eyah' or simply 'Ya' is the hypocoristic form of the name Yahweh. In other words, they contend, that God was using a play on words and saying, tell them (Yahweh) "yah" or "Jah" sent you. But no matter how you look at it, all speculation pales in comparison to the one known fact about translating this phrase.
It is well known that the problem in the translating of these three rich Hebrew terms, "eyah asher eyah," is the number of Greek and English words that it takes to make the phrase plain and do justice to the message that God was sending. So to cut to the chase they just translated it, I AM THAT I AM. With this translation, God is confirming to Moses that he will be whatever he
