 'DIE GREAT O1\IIISSI0f\-
. . . Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so sendIyou.
John 20:21
Luke says thatJesus told the disciples that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning atJernsalem (Luke 24:47). I\lark says that Jesu told his disciples to go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (IVfark 16:15) :tvfatthew says that Jesus told the disciples to teach all nations and baptize them in the na1ne of the father, son, and Holy Ghost.
Notice, they all agree that they were "sent". They all agree that they were "sent byJesus", and they all agree that they were "sent to deliver a message". Mark says they were supposed to "baptize". Luke says they were supposed to "baptize" and l\Iatthew says they were supposed to "baptize". They all said the same things, but they said it in different ways from different points of view. Because the writers didn't all say the same thing using the same
words, a lot of people misunderstand and think they have found a contradiction, but that's not trne.
Webster defines a "contradiction" as: To assert the contra')' q/ take issue with or to de1!J and imp/y the opposite.
