Goal's divine essence has no visible or\tactile fig ure like that of a human being. Instead, it |s written in John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they tha| worship him must worship him in spirit and in trutH." And a spirit hath neither flesh nor bones, as we le^rn from Luke 24:39. Zophar asked, "Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the almighty unto perfection?" (Job 11:7). i
Job described the invisibility of God in a very interesting way: "La, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not" (Job
9:11). Similarly, Job 23:8-9 says, "Behold, I go fonward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: on the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him."
Moses warned the Israelites in Deuteronomy 4:12-19 not to engrave the Lord God in any shape whatsoever, as He bears no distinct figure. (See I Timothy 1:17.) Indeed, there has been no person in any period of time who saw or physically touched the Spirit of God (John 1:18). Rather, we read in Acts 7:48-49, "Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in tem ples made with hands; as saith the prophet. Heaven
