Now more than ever, pharmacy has become a pivotal

touchstone for healthcare in the community.

With patients understanding that they can now come to you for
treatment and advice, rather than waiting for a GP appointment, opens
up a whole host of opportunities for you to increase footfall, improve
patient care and ultimately increase income.

In last month’s Numark Membership magazine, we emphasised the
importance of thinking beyond flu, and the other services you could
provide to keep your patients well this winter and how you could
maximise further opportunities.
Pharmacy First Service

From this month, as part of the NHS England Pharmacy First service,
you will need to complete 30 clinical pathway consultations to
meet the funding threshold. To help you achieve this, it's important
to inform your patients and customers that many common winter
health conditions are covered by the Pharmacy First service. This can
encourage them to seek your advice and treatment instead of visiting
their GP, making it easier for you to reach the funding target.
We have all the tools you need to raise awareness and successfully
run your Pharmacy First service. You can access these resources at
numarknet.com/pharmacyfirst.

By conducting 30 consultations each month through the Pharmacy First
service, you can earn a £1,000 threshold fee. With each consultation

valued at £15, this can amount to a total of £17,400 annually!

Conditions like sinusitis, sore throat, and uncomplicated urinary tract
infections (UTIs) in women are key areas that will help you reach this
threshold.
