COMAR released their dataset on asylum
applicants from 1-1-2018 to 11-1-2019 through an
new transparency law intended to expose the
effect the US has had on migration in Mexico.

The dataset includes categories such as the
dates applications are received, processed,
approved, denied, withdrawn, and abandoned.
The asylum-seeker’s country of origin, age, sex,
and state of application are also specified.

COMAR only specified whether the applications

were received at COMAR offices or INM
detention centers for 18,646 out of the 90,397
applicants during the period.
