Page 47 - When I was Young ebook
P. 47
I, the tulip; You, the sun
I am the tulip and you the sun
melting me with your proximity
heat too hot
thought I’d linger only for a moment
yet dried leaves countered that thought
stem tangled creating congested thoughts
You were a confused mind
poisoned fruit; pit and rind
taking me with you every time
cause in a twisted way I needed you to
grow
needed you to enlighten me, shower, and
show
show me mirrors to the inside
you allowed me to be vulnerable
not a pedal could hide
rooted ruins of me inside
rather rooted reasons
