A Multicentre East Midlands Myositis audit against BSR IIM standards

Introduction:
In March 2022 the British Society of Rheumatology (BSR) published the first UK evidence guideline on idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies (IIM). In view of the conditions rare and heterogenous nature and no prior guidance, there is expected variability in patient management within and between centres.
In this multicentre retrospective audit within the East Midlands network we present data for patient with IIM from Northampton (NGH), Kettering (KGH) and Royal Derby (UHDB) hospitals against the standards set out by current guidance.
Methods:
Using registry data and consultant caseload knowledge, cohorts of patients with IIM diagnoses consulted within the last 5 years were identified. As per the guideline inclusion body myositis was excluded.
In total 56 cases underwent retrospective clinical letter review for details of care and compared to the 21 adult myositis recommendations.
