May Week began on May 1st with our Scholarship Awards Ceremony. We awarded over 30 scholars with money for postsecondary education.
In addition, over $50,000 in scholarships were given for their high school academic excellence.
COLLEGE PLANNING

On May 7th, we hosted a virtual financial forum at noon and a college fair at 1 pm. Students from all over Broward County joined us for information on how to handle their finances. Students enjoyed the event and appreciated the gift cards and
giveaways, which were also in the mix!
DAZZLING DIAMONDS

Sorors of BCAC recently hosted the 22nd Annual Dazzling Diamonds Cotillion, which was held on April 24, 2022. Four young ladies, Kyndell Baskins (Fort Lauderdale High School), Jamaria Bass (Stranahan High School), Kayla Hallman (Hallandale High School), and Courtnie Williams (Fort Lauderdale High School), were present and recognized for their achievements in the Dr. Jeanne L. Noble G.E.M.S. program and their respective schools. These young ladies have been active in the program for the past four years and were blessed with scholarship money and academic recognitions. They have been accepted into some of the greatest universities. The recipients were awarded the following:
Kyndell Baskins: Academic Excellence Award with
4.8 GPA
Kayla Hallman: Community Service Award with 285 community service hours
Kyndell Baskins, Jamaria Bass, and Courtnie Williams: G.E.M.S. Participation
All 4 Debutantes receive the Book Award.
We wish all of these young ladies good luck in their future endeavors. It has been a pleasure working with them over the past few years!
Spring Fling

BCAC and DELDF recently hosted its
1st Annual Spring Fling
for all our Youth Initiatives participants
as well as other youths in the community,
on April 30, 2022. This very informative and live event had music and prizes and provided important information, such as Coding, Mental Health, and Financial Literacy.
The event was very interactive as the participants were engaged and had a fantastic time. Even though the event was virtual this year, we hope to have it in-person next time.
