POSITION CHARTER PUBLIC AREA ATTENDANT
A. Job Title Public Area Attendant
B. Place of Work
Responsible for sanitation and cleanliness of all public areas, function
C. Scope & General Purpose rooms, offices, back of the house, front of the house. Proper handling of
housekeeping cart and cleaning equipment
D. Responsible to: Housekeeping Supervisor – Public Area
E. Responsible for: None
F. Liaises with: Materials Custodian, Other Departments of the Hotel, Security
G. Limits of authority: According to each establishment
H. Reporting date:
I. Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Report to work on time, in proper uniforms and grooming standards.
2. Maintain complete knowledge of and complies with all departmental policies, service procedures,
standards.
3. Read the Public Area logbook at the start of shift.
4. Follow company and departmental safety and security policies and procedures to ensure
clean, safe and secure hotel environment.
5. Clean of Pubic Area Attendant’s cart.
6. Remove stains, scuff marks, and dust from baseboards, ledges and corners on furniture, windows, and
frames.
7. Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from public and employee bathroom mirrors, vanities, sinks,
toilets/urinals, shower walls, shower curtains and floors
8. Prepares of all cleaning supplies and equipment.
9. Clean the following areas including but not limited to using the appropriate chemicals following approved
cleaning standards and procedures:
9.1 Hallways
9.2 Guest service areas
9.3 Offices
9.4 Back and front areas of the Hotel
9.5 Function Rooms
9.6 Public Area Function Rooms
9.7 Lockers
10. Empty trash containers in all public areas and replenishes suppliers for public area rest rooms
ensuring adequate supplies at all time.
11. Report of missing items in all areas of responsibility and surrender lost and found items.
12. Submit accurate reports on time to the Public Area Team Leader
13. Use proper equipment, chemicals and wear appropriate personal protective clothing such as gloves,
mask etc.
14. Identify and report preventive and all maintenance issued in public areas.
15. Speak to guests and other staffs using clear, appropriate and professional language.
