The Transformational Journey of Sanjay:
A Special Child’s Yoga Path to Strength and Vision
In the vibrant city of Pune, a 13-year-old boy named Sanjay was struggling with a heavy burden far beyond his age—both physically and emotionally. Sanjay weighed over 80 kilos, was born with tilted eyes, and suffered from epilepsy and low vision, conditions that led to restrictions in his movement and self-confidence. He studied at a unique school—a blend of special-aid and regular students—called Ankur Vidya Mandir, where he was preparing for his 10th-grade exams under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) system.
While Ayurvedic treatment had been part of his routine for seven years, doctors repeatedly advised adding physical activity to his regimen. However, the right teacher and program remained elusive—until fate intervened.
Sanjay’s father, Ravi, was determined. His tireless search for someone who could offer personalized yoga instruction led him to Adhiyogi, a yoga master known for his exceptional therapeutic insight and deep compassion. Living just a few streets away, Adhiyogi welcomed Sanjay not just as a student, but as a mission. The teacher-student bond was immediate and profound.
The most unique part of the program was not just the physical postures but the power of mantra. Adhiyogi identified the Family Deity of Sanjay's lineage—Shiva—and taught Sanjay to chant a special Shiva mantra, but in a very particular way. This subtle, focused chanting was coupled with customized yoga postures that matched Sanjay’s physical abilities and energy patterns.
The transformation began.
Within a single month, Sanjay began to lose weight—shedding nearly 3 kilograms. More importantly, his stamina improved, his movements became smoother, and he could manage daily activities with less fatigue. But the true miracle was still unfolding.
Sanjay had been born with tilted eyes—a condition that a globally reputed ophthalmologist had declared irreversible. And yet, after consistent mantra chanting and the yoga regimen, Sanjay’s eye alignment visibly corrected itself, to the astonishment of his family and doctors alike.
Sanjay was thrilled. His confidence soared, and so did his aspirations. He now dreams of becoming a Yoga Teacher, inspired by the tremendous change he himself experienced. “I have improved only 10 to 15%,” Sanjay humbly says, “but I want to reach 80 to 90% perfection under Adhiyogi’s training.”
Adhiyogi, for his part, found immense joy and purpose in teaching Sanjay. The sessions were filled with laughter, persistence, and a deep sense of trust. For Sanjay, the classes weren’t just about asanas or healing—they were about becoming whole again.
