The Transformational Journey of Devanand: From Heart Attack to Healing Through Yoga
In February 2016, Devanand, a businessman in Pune, faced one of the most critical challenges of his life—a massive heart attack. His world changed overnight, and as he began the long road to recovery, he sought not just medical rehabilitation but a deeper form of healing—one that would touch his body, mind, and spirit.
At the suggestion of his daughter-in-law, Devanand was introduced to Adhiyogi, a revered yoga master known for his authentic and personalized approach. What began as a humble meeting turned into a life-changing experience. Adhiyogi crafted a gentle, yet powerful 15-day yoga and diet regimen specifically designed for post-cardiac recovery.
With unwavering commitment, Devanand followed the prescribed asanas, breathing exercises, and dietary recommendations. The result? Within six months, his transformation was remarkable—not only in physical strength and stamina, but in appearance and inner vitality. “So many people told me I look younger and more handsome,” he remarked with a smile, reflecting on the newfound energy and confidence he had gained.
But the story doesn’t end there.
Inspired by his own healing and intrigued by the deeper philosophy behind the practices, Devanand resumed his training with Adhiyogi in September of the same year—and has continued ever since. His journey evolved beyond recovery into self-discovery. He lost more weight, gained flexibility, and dove into the spiritual and intellectual depths of yoga.
Today, Devanand stands at the threshold of a new calling—becoming a yoga teacher himself. His remarkable progress even motivated one of his close friends to join him under Adhiyogi’s guidance.
“I am extremely thankful to you, Adhiyogi,” says Devanand. “Yoga has not only brought me back to life—it has opened a new life for me.”
He now urges everyone to dedicate at least 20 minutes a day to yoga. His message is clear: Healing is possible, transformation is real, and yoga is the path.
OM Shantiḥ
