Adhiyogi’s First Visit to Europe and work in Italy
In 2013, Adhiyogi received an unexpected email from Dr. Miron Kucinar, a medical doctor in Norway:
*"Hello!
I have been practicing meditation and chanting mantras for over 20 years but have never heard
such good teaching materials as your Shree Gayatri Mantram – Instructional and Meditational. I am VERY interested in buying:
• Shree Gayatri Mantram – Instructional and Meditational
• Shree Mahamrityunjaya Mantram – Instructional and Meditational
• Shree Ganesha and Vishnu Sahasranama
• Shree Vishnu Sahasranama Chanting for Yoga Practitioners
Can I buy this, please?
I am a doctor and live in Norway. I think there may be many people in Norway who are interested in your teaching.
Thanks in advance!
Sincerely,
Dr. Miron Kucinar"*
The message was warm, but it was their follow-up conversation that revealed the deeper connection. Dr. Kucinar shared that he had long yearned to learn the Shree Ganesha Atharvasheersham in its authentic form. On three separate visits to India, he had sought out traditional chanting pandits, but despite their mastery, the barrier of language persisted — the teachings were rooted in Sanskrit with little explanation in English. The nuances, rhythm, and layered meanings remained elusive.
Recognizing that Adhiyogi’s teaching style could bridge this gap, Dr. Kucinar extended an unusual and heartfelt invitation: come to Norway, all expenses paid, to personally teach the Atharvasheersham. This would not be yoga postures or even philosophical discourse, but precise, devotional chanting instruction.
Adhiyogi accepted, marking his first journey to Europe. Over a 20-day stay, he guided Dr. Kucinar through every verse, meticulously refining pronunciation, cadence, and intonation, while illuminating the spiritual meaning behind each line. Together, they recorded the sessions so the doctor could continue his practice for years to come.
