An Inspiring Journey in Thailand
In the quiet village of Paksong, nestled in the south of Thailand, the Thai Child Development Foundation has been working tirelessly since 2004 to uplift children through education, medical care, social support, and a Special School for those with disabilities. Alongside it, Eco-Logic Thailand—a resort built for charity—welcomes visitors from around the world, offering them not just a stay but a purpose: every guest contributes to the welfare of the local children.
Into this unique space arrived Dr. Neel Kulkarni in November 2023. For one full month, he poured his heart into service as a yoga and meditation teacher. His work touched many lives in different ways. Twice daily, he guided international guests at the resort through yoga, creating spaces of calm and reflection. Once a week, he offered meditation sessions that helped people pause and rediscover balance.
But his deepest impact lay with the children. At the Special School, he patiently taught yoga and meditation four times a week, adapting lessons with creativity and compassion—even developing a unique practice for children with physical disabilities. On Saturdays, he extended this gift to the local children of Paksong, ensuring no child felt left out of the transformative experience of yoga.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Kulkarni nurtured the yoga shala, managed yoga activities, promoted wellness to guests, and researched new ways to bring yoga into the lives of both children and adults. His approach combined discipline with kindness, and independence with collaboration.
Those who worked alongside him found him dynamic, thoughtful, and full of innovative ideas. He had a rare ability to connect equally with guests, children, staff, and management—always with respect and clarity. His passion inspired many to join in yoga and meditation, creating ripples of positive change throughout the community.
For the Thai Child Development Foundation and Eco-Logic Resort, his presence was a blessing. For the children of Paksong, he became not just a teacher, but a guide and motivator. His time there was short, yet his influence was lasting—a reminder of how compassion, when combined with skill and dedication, can truly transform lives.
OM Shantiḥ.
