Boss White’s Journey of Gratitude and Transformation with Adhiyogi
Boss White, a dedicated yoga teacher from California, first encountered Adhiyogi when he gave a one-time speech at a private home. She was immediately drawn to his depth, clarity, and authenticity. Soon after, she attended one of his meditation workshops, which left an even stronger impression on her.
At the time, Boss was already a certified teacher and was pursuing her advanced teacher training at Yoga Works. But after experiencing Adhiyogi’s teaching style and philosophy firsthand, she made a bold decision — she quit her existing program and chose instead to undertake a personalized teacher training with him.
When she approached Adhiyogi to take her on as a student for her 500-hour teacher training, she anticipated a high-quality program — but what she received went far beyond her expectations.
The training was deeply personalized — tailored not just in subject matter but also in the thoughtful time Adhiyogi invested in her. Each topic was studied with care, ensuring Boss had all the tools she needed to fully grasp it. Adhiyogi’s unique gift lay in meeting her exactly where she was, then taking her on a profound and personal journey through every subject they explored.
While most teacher trainings focus primarily on physical postures and sequencing, Boss’s experience was enriched with in-depth studies of philosophy directly from the ancient texts, as well as the integration of chanting and meditation into both personal and teaching practice. Adhiyogi also offered refreshing — and sometimes radically different — perspectives on vinyasa teaching, the use of props, and class structuring.
Her view of yoga expanded forever. Most importantly, she valued how Adhiyogi’s teachings embraced and honored all her previous yoga education. He never imposed, only offered — with clarity, depth, and generosity — the wisdom gathered from a lifetime of authentic practice and study.
Whether in personal study, during class, or simply sipping chai together, Boss found herself learning something new every time they met. Her respect and connection to Adhiyogi’s teachings deepened so much that she later began taking private philosophy classes from him, exploring yoga’s intellectual and spiritual roots on a much deeper level.
This connection eventually led Boss White to travel all the way to India, where she shared her own expertise by conducting Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training — her special skill — at Adhiyogi’s school. The program was warmly received, and it became a memorable cultural and professional exchange, further strengthening the bond between teacher and student.
