 3.10 rājayogāddhaṭhayogasāphalyamanyathāsāphalyam।
Only with Rājayoga, Haṭhayoga becomes successful, otherwise unsuccessful,
The purpose of Haṭhayoga is to reach Amanaska state of Mind, so that the Meditation which is Rājayoga can start (Sutra 3.2). In Haṭhayoga, this is achieved via raising the Kuṇḍalinī using Pranayama (Sutra 3.1). If Rājayoga is not reached, the Haṭhayoga practice becomes futile. Let us verify this from the classical Haṭhayoga texts.
