sarva-dharmān parityajya māmekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja| ahaṁ tvā sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ
Bhagavadgītā 18.66
Translation: Leaving aside all the methodologies, surrender to me (īśvara) alone. I shall
absolve you from all the sins. Do not worry.
I want to stress that other Spiritual Paths such as obtaining objectless Samadhi (
1.51), Self-enquiry in “Who Am I”, Mindfulness, Selfless Work (Karmayoga), and
Living in the Present are not sufficient to achieve salvation (Kaivalya, Mokṣa, Mukti, Spiritual
Liberation, etc.). They are very effective in making a person spiritual. However, without the
īśvarapraṇidhāna, Mokṣa is impossible. īśvarapraṇidhāna is mandatory practice for salvation.
It is also extremely complimentary or supportive of all other paths. This practice, however,
should not be a fanatic religious practice. It should be a pure surrender to īśvara as
described the prologue to this book.
