The elements of Classical Yoga Philosophy and practices are embedded into Adhiyoga so that both the students of Classical Yoga and students of Health and Fitness both can derive benefits as per their wish and obtain Happiness.
Today’s students of Health and Fitness Yoga exercises, though enjoying benefits from their practice, especially after a prolonged such practice, feel the lack of integrating Classical Yoga into their practice. The Classical Yoga Practice, no doubt, is hard and needs inclination, discipline, guidance of a real teacher, and appropriate environment. Classical Yoga practice deals with mind and that is the main difficulty. Mind cannot be perceived outwardly, and the practice is subtle and internal. It might become hard or overwhelming in today’s materialistic and busy world. It was hard even in Patañjali’s times who states that the Classical Yoga is for tīvrasaṁvega (Yoga sūtrās of Patañjali 1.21). In Bhagavadgītā too, the difficulties encountered in the Yoga Path as well as other Spiritual paths are described. Patañjali states that the Yoga practitioners lacking (extremely strong intention and practice) may take up an easier path of as an alternative to his eightfold system, Aṣṭāṅgayogā Yoga (Yoga sūtrās of Patañjali 1.23).
