Definition of the Present 01
Progressive Tense (Nominal)
Present progressive nominal do not have a verb,
but instead use to be (am, is, are) followed by
being and a complement (noun, adjective, or
adverb). In these sentences, being does not have
the meaning of “in progress” as in verbal
sentences, but rather implies the meaning of
“pretense” or “unusual attitude.”
