 Sensitive hearing

Have you ever squealed or cringed at the sound of a chalkboard or someone chewing with their mouth open? Well you're not alone. There are people all over the world that are going through the same thing. However, some people may be more sensitive to other sounds than others. For example, some people may have a dog and be used to the sound of barking, while others aren’t used to it. This is called misophonia.
​ What is misophonia?
Misophonia is a strong reaction to specific sounds. These sounds may include, dripping water, chewing out loud, repetitive noises, pencil tapping, ​and​ etc. People with this get irritated easily and triggered. In addition, it may cause their blood pressure to rise because most people with this condition tend to panic when they hear these sounds. Therefore, if someone asks you to stop whatever noise you're making that may be bothering them, you should stop. I say this because someone may get so annoyed by these sounds and snap on you, or even hit you. To add on to what misophonia is, it is not recognized as a mental illness. So, if you have misophonia, there is nothing wrong with you and it is completely normal.
Who has misophonia?
About 15% of adults have misophonia. Or, 1 in 6.5 adults have it. However, any age could have this condition. You could be 80 years old or 7 years old and still have misophonia. Also, it is most common in people that already have a condition. For
