COURSE OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
1. State the principles for a quality and inclusive learning environment for early childhood education (ECE), including toddler care and preschool learning contexts;
2. Apply techniques for integrating information from observations, child development theory and planning principles to develop goals and objectives for ECE teams; and
3. Implement a quality environment for an ECE setting.
COURSE SYNOPSIS
This course is divided into ten topics. The synopsis for each topic is presented below:
Topic 1 introduces quality environment in early childhood setting and explains its importance. The indicators for quality environment of early childhood setting are described in this topic, as well as pointers on how to recognise safety and security hazards, and ways to assess best practices for quality environments that meet children needs.
Topic 2 describes an early childhood environmental setting that meets the needs of the children. It discusses the concept of comfort, softness and competence in the context of providing a healthy and safe environment. You will learn how to
