 INTRODUCTION
What do you remember of your experience attending preschool for the first time? What happened in the classroom? In the case of Yaya, who is attending preschool for the first time, she will need more time to adjust to the new environment. As she entered the classroom, she looked around the room anxiously. She scanned her surroundings and examined the new environment. She tried to determine if she belonged to the new environment or not. She wondered how she was going to spend many hours in this new learning environment. Yaya expressed relief when she found that the new environment was inviting and made her feel good to be there.
